Mr. Harley Goldman and Mr. Preston Birdwell warming themselves in early morning sun alongside El Capitan Meadow in early November. The star of the pic though is Harley's photography assistant and composition finder, Ms. Maggie. What a trooper Mags is.
If these guys look cold, they were. Maybe it was about 32F? These two couldn't wait for the sun to rise over the valley walls. I mentioned in my Landscape post today that I could spend hours wandering the meadows of Yosemite - literally, and these two showed great patience waiting for me! Actually, I grabbed this image after the short walk back after capturing today's posting in the Landscape gallery.
Good times and great photographic opportunities wherever we meet, but especially in a place as special as Yosemite.

Jim, I have been in Yosemite in the winter many times, but it was bone-chilling cold due to the dampness of a recent storm. The cold air sits on the valley floor, and this time of year only the north side gets any sun. Don't forget: This is sunny and warm California, so we old guys feel the cold more than you young East Coaster's.
