Ringtail

One of my favorite critters, rightail cats, also known as miner's cats and cacomistle are slender members of the raccoon family.  Seldom seen, so when the zoo received a pair I had to go and photograph them.  Fortunately is was a cloudy day and the mostly nocturnal ringtails were out and about.  Nothing great about the photo, just wanted to share these guys.

This is the first time I've seen one of these critters.  That's a very cool ringed tail.

These are kool kritters John.  They have wonderful color and are fun to watch.  I don't know if you are a music fan but Jorma Kaukonen (of Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane) has a fun song called Ringtail Cat on his solo album "Quah".
