About 50 steps from the back door of our cabin on 1st Beach, La Push. I have always said that this kind of stuff didn't happen to me. Not anymore I guess! Have not been around in a long while, but see a few others have emerged from a long break as well. Welcome back Y'all

Welcome back, Chris.  It's impossible to argue with a scene like this lurking at the back door.  The rainbow is a crowning touch on a fine surf scene...were Jan and Dean or the Beach Boys singing in the background???

Well that doesn't suck.  Fifty paces is an awesome distance.  Really nice Chris and welcome back.

Welcome back Chris. I like this image a lot. You have captured the atmosphere of the coast wonderfully. I actually would have preferred it without the rainbow. I feel the image has enough to stand on it's own.Just beautiful.

Nice to see so many coming back! I envy you for having a cabin with this as the backyard. The gradient in the photo is very nice, wouldn't change a thing!

I hope you packed adequate supplies for your long hike for this image. Nice bow and misty scene.

Hey Chris,

Welcome back from one former lurker to another. enlightened  What's the saying? One makes their own luck?  We get out there enough times, then eventually this kind of stuff happens, right?

I think the rainbow really completes the image.  The spray/mist throughout the image creates the atmosphere and really sets the mood, but the rainbow for me is icing on the cake.  I like the inclusion of the receeding water on the beach too.

Hope to see more!

I've looked at this a couple of times, and I like what you've done, here, Chris. The stacks and the mist look very nice, but the rainbow is the star of the show. Well done!

Great to see you posting again, Chris.  This is a beautiful capture that is nicely composed with the subtle foreground lines.  I like the texture in the waves and of course the rainbow adds a nice touch.

Yeah, here's Chris again, too. Good to see a proof of life. I noticed a few of your posts (the EP for example), but that was a while ago.
Beautiful image, with elegance, as usual. Things like this happened to me, but never when my camera was on a tripod, ready to release the shutter.
Luck favors the prepared, they say..;-)

Welcome back Chriscrying    To me the rainbow is like icing on the cake .. the cake would also  be wonderful  without  the icing.   the   beautiful  light and the  motion of  the surf  has me  spellbound
