We discovered a great horned owl nest earlier this spring. It was exciting to find them so close to our home. Once we arrived at the nest it was easy to spot them from all the noise they were making during their branching lessons.

Thanks for looking!

Cropped to 85% of original.

Techs coming soon.

Janaya,

great usage of framing technique around the owl. That leads the viewer nicely to the main subject. I like it enlightened

Great composition and lovely colors.  I like the partially OOF vegetation in the front which gives an idea that you were trying to hide and not be seen

Nice, Jenaya.  I like th position of the bird in the frame and it looks like you have good detail.

It's a good thing that branched juvenile Great Horneds don't have many predators, because they are noisy and perch in little cover, waiting for mom or dad to come with food. You've got captured that behavior and their curiousity very nicely. Interesting composition, too.

I like the unusual veiw of this youngster peering through the branches at you Jenaya. Over-all a very nice color palet also.

I really like this coposition as presented, but I would be tempted to try to crop it a bit tighter and perhaps to a horizontal frame for a more intimate view of the owlet.
