The Genet
by Mario Moreno
A Genet captured in Southern Spain. Wildlife photography in Spain is really tough due to all the hunting so animals are really shy in the presence of humans. This image was captured from a mobile hide using 2 remotely controlled flashes. The really difficult part of capturing a genet in Spain is locating it and learning it´s daily routine. Sat in the hide for 4 hours and only got 2 half decent shots ......... I will be back when I have a chance

8 commentsin my opinion a very nice image, especially knowing how difficult it is to get images done in some areas of Europe. The image also perfectly shows the typical daytime behaviour of this nice animal.
Bien hecha y espero que tengas más oportunidades de hacer más fotos
I have had the pleasure of working with a couple species of genets in the zoo. Great animals. Your photo is better than any I was able to get of the captive animals. Really well done. Thanks for sharing.
Well this is a surprise, remarkable that there is any Wildlife in Spain, I certainly did not know they still had Genets.
The image is great you have a great pose which is very well lit.
Hard work pays off
Beautiful animal!
Cheers,
Hisham.
Like John, I'm not normally a fan of the look of images that are dependent on flash. But this one is very solid and I can absolutely appreciate the challenge associated with capturing this shot. Well done.
Cheers...
