Jagdeep: dust, flying bits of dirt and backlit flared ears. Hard to ask for anything more. Fantastic. Richard

Nailed it!  An exceptional image. If it were me, I'd have been a human on the run. You must have been quite close.

I can smell the dust and feel the ground shaking. Great take, I think this little fellow is charging and not running from anything.

That's pretty scary, especially considering you were shooting with a maximum 200mm lens!  Oviously, you not only survived this close encounter but you captured an amazing and extremely dynamic shot.  You perform very well under pressure, Jagdeep frown
An excellent exposure, especially considering that the elephant was backlit and the centered composition actually is the best choice for this kind of shot because it puts the focus squarley on the fast approaching elephant which is exactly where it would be in this case!  Great capture! devil

Hi Jagdeep,

A VERY compelling shot - well done! Love the dust, the action, and the lighting is excellent. Would love to know a LITTLE more about this encounter if you have the time to elaborate a little (e.g., was it charging YOU or away from something else, etc.).

Cheers...

The backlit dust cloud is very cool.

I'm trying to figure out what the red on the ears is.  Is it mud, or blood?  It's very intense.

Thanks Max! It is neither dust nor blood, but thin skin of ears against light.
