Roan
by Ken Watkins
Continuing my unhealthy obsession with African antelope is this image of a Roan.
In common with Sable they have a black stripe running through the eye which usually makes life very difficult.
This one posed nicely for me at Ngweshla Waterhole, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe.

8 commentsI like this image on one hand because of the nice reflection, but also the blue in the water. Also the small headland ( hope I am using the word right ) on which the roan is walking is very interesting.
Nice composure. I am a sucker for reflection images. I think this one worked out nicely!

The strip of soil across the water is new this year, it appears to seperate the "deep end"
Thanks for your comment, I agree that less centred would be better
This one is interesting. I like the lowered head and the blue-brown colours work for me. My preference would be to see a little more foreground and a little less background, but that's purely a subjective thing.
Cheers...
