Constant rain here at the moment, so have dug out an old iris close-up. As I remember, this was taken indoors by natural light. Canon 400D, 100mm macro, 0.4 sec @ f8, 0.33ev, ISO 200

Ian,
fantastic colors and I like how you have used DOF to guide the viewer to an anchor in the image. I also like the out of focus area at the top right corner and the out of focus area at the lower left corner acting as a balance point. Well done and actually I am here in Germany in the same situation as you, grey days with a lot of rain.

That is Ian! Blue and yellow on an iris always inspire you. A beautiful image this time too that is centered on the splendid contrast of the two opposite colors.

Lovely interpretation Ian. Nice flow and beautiful colors. Made me search my iris file and reminded me to try this type of image again next spring. Although, if this weather keeps up, they may bloom next week. The star magnolia is about to do so.

Hi Ian, wonderful composition - the converging lines really work and the yellow going off center gives the image a nice 'kick'.
