Northern Pintail

Although Bosque is famous for thousands of Snow Geese and Sandhills, there are many more ducks that over-winter there.  I shot this recently near the flight deck.  There were some grasses that I cropped from the top.  I kind of liked the loose framing for the interesting surrounding water.  It was partially backlit at 11 AM, so I worked the shadow/highlights to bring out some detail.

A very nice scene with the water here Bill, I would try to selectively lighten the bird some. devil

Nice one, Bill.  I like the framing and the water, particularly in the lower part of the frame, is really cool.

I like the water lines and shaded colors. Can the side of the duck be worked for some of the fine detail? Very nice image.

Lovely setting and the colors/patterns in the water add a lot. Maybe you could make the bird pop a little more, but already fine as posted! Cheers, Hans
