Red-crested Korhaan

Normally one doesn’t get to see the Red Crest of these Korhaan but during the mating display the male do aerial dance and on the ground the male dances like Michael Jackson doing a side walking moves and raises his red crest. On my recent visit to Africa (Linyanti) I was very fortunate to see and document this rare show for quite sometime.

Full frame, I could’ve added a canvas on the LHS but decided not to...

Bizarre looking bird. The techs look pretty good. A little more room all around if you have it. Well done.

A crazy looking bird with excellent detail and exposure, Butch.  It is pretty tight, but some creative matting would mitigate that.

I would have added a small amount of canvas on the LHS and even more on the right. A sharp image throughout of an exotic avian. It just needs more room.cool

I have never seen one of these crazy looking birds, so thanks for posting it Butch. I do wish you had a bit more frame around him, but I like the leg lift and low POV.

Hello Butch
I love this take of the smart bird, bedecked in its Sunday Best - I can't decide whether it is Prada or Missoni!
Excellent technics and composition but may I suggest a couple modifications? I'd add a centimeter or two of canvas to the LHS also I'd clone out the gray line and blurs on the mid region of the RHS.
Well done.
David

artistic detail from head to tail.  The closeness actually displays the charm of the bird and his expression.  Thanks for sharing, nicely done.
