'Landing Party'

"Sort of a second bite at the Apple" as so nicely phrased by the hard working Moderator of the Macro & CU Gallery, I submit this image as my "Take 2" offering.

"Landing Party' was first posted on 1/4/15 (back when we were only posting at 300kb file size, the good old days) and that posting can be seen HERE.

This is one of my favorite images and happened purely by chance. I was taking the image of the bee on the left when the second bee flew in as the shutter was clicking. 'Landing Party' also won top honors at the 2015 South Cobb Arts Alliance National Juried Art Show and was prominently featured as part of their Gallery Exhibition from January 20th till February 21st 2015. (You are correct, that will make any of your images one of your favorites)

As I commented when you posted this earlier, Mike, the remarkable accomplishment here was getting both bees, one of which is in flight, perfectly sharp, and with a winde angle lens. The image is perfectly balanced with the two flowers and bees well placed in the opposite power positions of the frame. Finally, expert use of flash/light.  Thanks for sharing again, and congrats on the well deserved award. devil

How cool, to get two big bumblebees at the same time on different flowers.  This is excellent, MIke, with sharpness throughtout, great colors and a fine dark background.  Your award was well deserved.

I can see why this has been so popular, Mike.  A very nice diagonal composition with excellent lighting and detail even without the second bumblebee.  An excellent image.

Mike,

Since I have just joined this group, this is my first time seeing this wonderful photo. Besides the technical perfection, I love the happy industrious feel to it. It is so vibrant and active.

Mike, Wonderful inflight catch with two sharp bees. The yellows flowers are also beautiful. Congrats on a difficult capture and the well deserved award!
