This is another from July 2011. This is a cram taken in my backyard. I was just starting to practice the technique.

This is wierd, Steve. I commented on this one first thing this morning but must not have pushed the right button. I love this one with the light in the center of the subject blossom and it's relatively sharp detail with everything else so well blurred. The faintly visible blossoms in the bg echo the main subject nicely and convey the idea that this is a whole bed of this flower. Well done.

I like this a lot, Steve. The light on the main flower is gorgeous, and I like the yellow wash. Fine tecnique and result on the cram. I will disagree with Dennis about the bg echo flower, however. To me, it almost loooks like a processing artifact, and is distracting. Makes the viewer wonder what it is. I'd probably crop this image from the top down to the start of the yellow petals in the bg flower, and then crop from the right to the final desired image ratio/comp.

Hi Steve I too enjoy this image. but agree with Scott about the crop on top and rt side. to make this an even stronger composition

Thanks for the comments! I cropped a little from the top and right as suggested, plus I cloned out the ghost twin above and left of the main bloom.

Steve, I was actually referring to the main ghost flower top center. Maybe that's too much of a crop.

Hi Steve, the light on the main flower is wonderful - a real dreamy composition - If you don't want to crop so much (as suggested and sorry, but which I also think would give a stronger composition, but only in as much as there is really then only one subject) you could try bluring out the top main 'ghost' the rest of the image is more than soft enough that this would also work and I think the placement of the main flower would then work very well as currently positioned. Cheers, Mark

Steve, I can't help but like this as is. Removing the very faint ghost, OK, but sometimes too many cooks, You know?
