This is an aerial view of ... errr ... actually ...  cool  This is a small area of sand which had been exquisitely sculpted by runoff through a wash in the eastern region of Zion as a result of strong storms a couple of weeks earlier in mid-October.  I'd estimate that the actual width of this scene is only about 18-24 inches.

Excellent, Jim.  I love theway that curve leads the eye through the image and all the fine detail it picks up along the way.

Jim, thank you.  I've been waiting all week for a sand pattern post.  I used to love taking these, but the Montana house in the mountains has kept me away from beaches for nearly a decade.  This is a fine pattern with a good sense of movement, nice warm colors and lots of details.  The larger version really shows off the details wonderfully.

A fine abstract.  The wind and water did all the amazing work and you added your touch to share it with us.  Well seen.
