PRAISE THE…. SPIDER WEBS!!!!

At long last…after 5 years of being a finalist, I finally got awarded a Highly Commended in the prestigious Travel Photographer Of The Year Contest. I'm in spider heaven cool

This photo is one of the photos of the winning series 'Spider Webs'.

Dewy mornings always invite me to go for the 50mm lens full open, using extension tubes to create an exuberant bokeh in the dew drops, back-lit by the rising sun. Have used it on several subjects, this time it was spider webs.

Nikon D800E, Nikkor AF-D 50mm f/1.8, extension tubes, hand held.

All winning images can be viewed here: http://www.tpoty.com/winners/2015

Wow, the is dazzling, Ingrid. laugh The abstract design is amazing. I'd love to get something like this some day. I have been casually searching for a used 50, but getting one is a priority after seeing this. devil

Love the "chains of bright rings" here Ingrid.  Congrats on your award.  Your, pushed beyond it's design limits, use of this lens has provided some outstanding images and will have me looking into this approach also.
