Alberto: A scene I really wanted to see for myself when we visited Death Valley in October but heavy rains had made the roads to the Race Track impassable. Love the POV, comp and capture. Makes me want to go back. >=))>

There is some (natural?) vignetting around the rock, which is very effective. That really brings the attention to the lonely rock followed by its track. There is a bit of empty space on the left though, maybe crop it to a vertcial comp? Very nice photo of a very interesting phenomenon.

Alberto,
Classic Racetrack view and comp. Great job isolating the one rock and track, then framing with the mountains in the bg. I'm wondering how this might look in B&W with some creative adjustments. Just a thought.
I'm pretty sure that "vignetting" around the rock that Roel is referring to is simply all the mud/cracks being trampled and worn down by countless photographers and visitors walking around these rocks, dropping their packs, tripods, kneeling, etc. etc. When I was there in 2001 I was really disappointed with all the mud being broken down from all the foot traffic. You had to go far and wide on the playa to find a rock and track that wasn't disturbed. I guess the good news is that every winter with rains and freezes, the mud gets "refreshed..."
Anyway, a fine rendition from here Alberto.

Classic Racetrack scene. This might also look good in B&W? Cool image.
That road out there sure is a beater. It will shake loose a tooth filling or two.

I'm seeing some nice new track lines from DV RT. This is a nice reminder.
