Rain Deer

In the spirit of the seasonsad.  This is from the same session as my last post.  As is typical with deer, they spent most of their time with thier heads down, but one did check me out while her companion settled down for a nap.

7D2, Sigma 150-600mm C @ 324mm, hand held, f/6.3, 1/1000, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 11.1 Mpixels before resizing mostly due to straightening.  I don't know if it was me or if she was on the side of one of the mounds in our back field, but she looked very tilted.  Taken November 11, 2015.

I appreciate your comments on my previous post and look forward to your input on this image-you give excellent feedback in this gallery.

Thanks,

The flying bits of H20 add much to this capture.  I am noticing faint bands of color in the grasses and am wondering if you could enhance that a tiny level to make them more evident but avoiding, of course, any feeling of unnatural.  Do I see the ear of another deer to her left????

Interesting observation, Lon.  I normally find myself trying to deemphasize the bg.  I think I'll try giving it a slight saturatin or curves boost to see what it looks like.  Thanks for the suggestion.

You should see two ears from the other deer, one pointing toward the camera and one pointing away.

Cheers.

Dennis,

this is for me a fantastic photo, due to its nice monochromatic coloring that emphasizes the rainy mood. Also the alert pose of the deer and its placement in the frame is well done and that rain drops add the special touch to make the image different.

Well done devil
