Fires below Dhaulagiri

This image was taken a couple of years back while trekking in Annapurna sanctuary in Nepal. The prominent peak to the left is Dhaulagiri, the 7th highest mountain in the world. Fires, which can be observed in the foothills below, created the layers of smoke. Appreciate any comments and/or suggestions. Thanks

This is absolutely fantastic, Dave. The layers give this scene a wonderful sense of depth and I love the atmospherics with the smoke. Keep them coming.

I love this one even more than your previous take on this scene! This one feels more complete and I think the colors are more appealing. The only thing I am thinking about is maybe a bit more detail in the dark foreground, since it makes up more of the comp this time. But I am not sure about that, it might also distract from what is going on in the distance. Small nit, this is sweet stuff!

This is a very nice image, Dave. I like it a lot. The layers with the mist in the distance is very appealing. A couple of thoughts: A. The dark fg. I would try to bring out more detail or make it completely dark. The fact that most is black but some has very slight detail seems a bit off. B. It would be nice if that mist area was a cooler color. I would try to cool the entire image and bring back the warmer sky. I would try that as an experiment and see if it works. These are minor suggestions because the image is really great as is.

Just beautiful Dave!  The almost muted color is working well, enhancing the atmosphere and conditions.  The term "purple haze" comes to mind (have to be old enough to know the reference.)

No nits or suggestions; the tones are wonderful and appropriate.

Beautiful image, Dave. I like the dark foreground ridge, I would consider cropping  a bit of it off though, so it joins the first smoke lit ridge line and starts the V pattern of those lovely purple canyon lines.

Love it. The contrasting tones of the fog and warm bg work very well. I think the  limited detail in the shadows  helps lead  my eye to the peaks. Well done, looks like a great trek.
