December 28, 2015 at Newport Beach Pier, in Newport Beach, California.  It rained earlier in the afternoon and the heavy clouds remained, although we were dry but cold.

Very nice, Patrick; water movement, clouds, position of the pier, and the blue/cold tones, well done.

Another fine peir image, Patrick. I like the light on the water, especially in the lower left section. I wondered if it might be a stronger composition if the pylons were a little lower in the image; maybe not, I don't think I'd want to lose the light. Great purple highlights in that sky,  and the SS flattened the water but I still get a rolling sense of motion.

The light reflections on the smooth water and the color in the sky is what caught my eye first. Also the pier makes a nice leading line.

Patrick: you've captured a very nice effect with the long shutter speed. I like how the pier legs contrast with the water and the sky. Maybe, just maybe, you might consider reducing the saturation in the sky a bit. It seems too strong in comparison the the relative mutedness of the water. Richard

Nice pierspective, Patrick. Other than I think some of blue/cyan is a tad strong, the image works nicely for me.
