Beautiful, Jagdeep.  I like the low angle that works very well with the half submerged tiger and the large amount of water in the foreground accentuates the angle, which I like.  In the larger image the more oof portions of the rock wall seem to have a texture that my eyes find disturbing and I think a little blur in that area to smooth it out would be a nice finishing touch to an excellent image.

Jagdeep: there's a definite "wow" factor to be seen when viewed large. The contrasting coloration of the tiger against near monotone grey background really make the tiger pop. The direct eye contact and low perspective further make the shot. Hang it! Richard

Hi Jagdeep, alway great to see a Tiger, irrespective of the environment, but this is cool to have one in the water. I like the overall comp and having more FG. My only thought would be to neutralise the water and rock more which may add more prominece to the subject?

Beautiful Jagdeep - the scene in itself is lovely with that reflection in the water, but it's the eye contact and the question in those eyes that makes this photo for me. Nice! devil

Hi Jagdeep,

Very nicely done - love the low angle and I think including as much foreground as you have helps accentuate the low angle. I'm in agreement with Richard that the eye contact adds a lot to this shot.

Two minor issues on the technical side that have a bit of an aesthetic impact (and could likely be remedied quite easily). First...when I look at the Detailed View image on a "standard" resolution monitor (100 ppi) the facial region of the shot looks quite oversharpened, with sharpening "jaggies" on all individual whiskers. Note that these largely go away on a Retina (220 ppi) display. The introduction of hi-res monitors has complicated the sharpening game!

Second, there's seems to be some odd in-focus but out-of-focus issues in the rock face directly behind and above the tiger's right ear (and extending up and to the left of the ear). It almost looked like parts of the rock face were blurred but some parts were missed (and they appear equidistant to the tiger, so it doesn't look at all like DoF-related issue).

But overall a very pleasant image to look at - thanks for sharing it!

Cheers...

Brad

Pretty amazing scene here, Jagdeep! Love the image and the drama that the water and the gaze of the tigress gives. I did note the sense of oversharpening (crunchiness) on my non-retina monitor, as well as the..."odd" appearance to the rock face in the background. Did you apply a blur "vignette" or some technique to the top and corners? This is still a wonderful image...my comments on the rocks are more of a curiosity than a critique.

Thanks friends!
Brad, I salute your observations! Actually, I found the sharpness on "edge", but my observation was limited to my monitor only n I wanted to get some feed back on that.
Regarding the 'blur' issue, many times I dream about having a 200mm F2 lens, but have not been able to afford it. Here I was trying to learn the 'field-bliur' feature of PS. Obviously caught by Brad here.angel
I believe all these expreiments keep the learning curve moving upward.

I really like the eye contact here Jagdeep. I also like the low angle and the amount of water leading up to the tiger is perfect. Rock issues already mentioned. Nice work!

Jagdeep,
A wonderful pose, but the large image seems to me to be slightly oversharpened
