Ice Bubble Abstract III

From the same session as my last post.  I kept moving around slightly looking for different compositions that I liked.  I had a bit more light in this one, and I think it looks a bit warmer and richer.  I also like some of the longer shapes in the surface of the ice.  Normally I would rotate the image to allow for more size on computer screens, but the flow of the image wanted to be upward on this one.

5D3, 180mm f3.5 macro, tripod, f/32, 2.0 sec, iso 200, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6 with contrast adjustments in Topaz Detail 3.  Full Frame.  Taken January 4th at 1:23 PM under overcast skies.

I appreciate your input on the last couple of ice abstracts and look forward to your thoughts on this one.

Thanks,

This one appears to have a more regular pattern, Dennis, with a nice diagonal "flow" and round bubbles. I actually think I like this one a bit more for that reason. Looking at the large version, I wish there was more dof, but you shot this at f32, so this seems to have been maxed out. Very nice overall.

Before I read the title I thought these were petroglyphs!! The large version is a real treat, with great detail!!

Funny, I almost mentioned rotating the image in my comment to your previous post...guess you read my mind from afar... sad  I like the strongly upward sense of flow here.  You've got fine contrast as well and that lets both the underlying pattern and the ice structures show strongly.

This and the previous image almost remind me of bubbles in amber.  The two together are a nice pair.
