This is the name given to this lion by researchers?
He is freshly arrived from Namibia presumably over the Kwando, which currently is quite low.
Sorry for the clipping, he had just moved slightly forward and given us a warning snarl.
Taken in Kwando concession Northern Botswana
EOS 1DX
200-400 mm F4 at 461 mm
F5.6
ISO 800
1/800

This old boy looks like he's been around for a while. Focus looks great, and I like the off center position. I think I'd be a little cranky  myself if I had a face full of flies like this.

Hello Ken, great environment capture with those pesky face flies.

Impressive image!  I see nothing off with the composition.  Those flies would bother me also, would get a bit cranky.  thanks for sharing.

Love that stare.  Would have gotten me worried.  I feel sorry for him with all the flies on his face.

Very impressive Ken!
I may selectively darken the light foliage!
