2015 HD Deep Dive 6
by Nathan Buck
Hi all.
Another dahlia photo. For this one, it looks like maybe I need to crop in from the left a bit so that that one petal is not clipped right on the end. (Just looking at it again and thought that.) Does it need that?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

When composing a close up dahlia, where to crop the flower is always tricky, but I think if the tip, it looks like the photographer made a mistake or was careless and "clipped the tip." Therefore, in this situation, I simply take a bit more off so it looks like it was cut off right where the photographer intended. Taking a little more the left side of this image will not take detract from the image, IMO, but will avoid the "clipped tip."
