Morning Spider

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted February 11, 201694 views4 comments
This spider greeted me in the morning a few months back as I was about to do the nursery run. I made a mental note to get the camera out on my return.....

Taken with a Canon 5D MK iii and a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens

Any and all feedback/critique would be very much appreciated....

Hi Rob, welcome to NPN and the Macro gallery.  This is an outstanding look at this spider.  The spider is wonderfully sharp, the web shows well and the background colors are amazing (possibly a bit too saturated as they pull attention from the spider).  My one thought is, "Did you take a vertical?", as then the spider's shape would match the frame better.  Having said that, this looks great as presented, an outstanding first post.

Excellent detail in the spider and web. I love the colorful bg.  Very nicely done!

That is one neat looking spider, sharp and all! The pattern in the backgroudn is nice, but I do think it could benefit from some desaturation.

Hi Rob. Welcome to NPN. Outstanding first post. The detail in the spider is excellent, as is your background. Nice work, including your dof management for the bg. devil
