Forest Litter

Another Flora style image sitting waiting to be posted from my November trip to Yosemite.

I think I spend much more time looking down and around, rather than up.  I enjoy searching for little arrangements like this, even though I'm in such a grand place as Yosemite.  This mostly a found image, although in full disclosure, the big oak leaf in the UR quadrant was placed.  For those who are nitpicky like me, you'll notice the tip of the stem of that leaf.  Ya see, most things in the image have frost on them - but not the step, that's because my finger melted it when picking and placing... angel

This is a square crop from the original to try and balance the elements the best I could.  Would love your thoughts and critiques.

Nikon D800E
Tamron 24-135mm @68mm
f/18 2-image focus stack.

Thanks for looking!

Lon

Lon,

this is is very natural looking to me. I'd never guess the leaf was placed. This is very beautiful and gives me some inspiration for shooting this time of year in Virginia.

Lon: I love lots of things with images like this, one of them being it is impossible to duplicate. A great combination of textures, tones and elements. The larger version is a visual treat IMO. 2+ thumbs up for looking down and for your vision. Keep 'em coming. >=))>

Well, the first I noticed, Lon, was that the stem had no frost. You're just going to have to clone some frost back onto the stem or the whole image is ruined. enlightened
Seriously, I very much like the graphic earth tones and the nice shapes and needles outlined in frost.

Lon, this looks completely natural to me. I have spent many years in the woods, walking in ground condition that looked like this. The delicate frosting and the oak/pine mix look just right. The stack looks good. Well composed!

Next time, take your tweezers along so you don't melt the frost.sad
