A few pelicans winter in the Snake River Canyon. I was able to get fairly close to this handsome bird.

80% of full frame. Slight adjustments to Levels, selective sharpening tobird.

Sweet image, Jim.  Superb detail in the plumage and I really like the head turn and mottled light on the back.

Very nice image in harsh lighting conditions. Great sharpness. The image really pops in the larger view

Beautiful detail in the whites and a nice over the shoulder look here Jim.  I find the vegetation on the left of the bird a bit distracting.  devil
