Cloudscape Sunrise

I shot this a while ago and never posted it. This is from Roanoke mountain summit. I am able to stop here on my way to and from work. I stopped in this particular morning because I could tell there was ground fog and it was partly cloudy while I was driving. I thought conditions were favorable, so I drove up the mountain. Waves of clouds with mountains poking through below and a sunrise on top. I made 4 shots with variations in composition, centering the sun, etc, and then split for work.

Sigma DP1 Merrill, 19mm, ISO 100, 1/200 Second, f8. Raw converted to TIF in Sigma Photo Pro then LRCC. I think I used a 2 stop GND filter. Tripod, Timed shutter release. Basic editing to make it look and feel like I experienced it.

Beautiful sky, and I really dig the misty land as well. My only nit would be to increase the brightness somewhat, it looks a bit dark to me.

Nice work Brad! Your comp works really nice and I love how that fog looks rolled in over the land. Great looking sky topping of this wonderful scene. Yes, a bit dark but I do like the mood it conveys. That probably depends a lot on how we have our monitors set as well and I have my brightness set down to 40% and wb temp at 6500K.
