Winter Wonderland

Another image from my hike through Youngstown's Mill Creek Park following a recent snow. As I noted before, it was our only good snow of the winter, and it turned the local park into a winter wonderfland. Nice snows don't last long around here, so I took a number of images during about my 5 hour hike. Winter wonderland is the right term, this looks very inviting! Especially the area around the creek is sweet. For me, the left edge is a bit more chaotic than the rest of the photo, and since it is the tranquility of this scene that does iit for me, I would consider a crop from the left to approx. a 4x5 format. It is a minor nit though, I really enjoy this one!

Lovely mix of snow and water flow. Following up on Roel's thoughts, did you happen to take a vertical that cut out both sides? That would be interesting to compare.

A nice winter scene with excellent control of the whites, Scott.  I like the positioning of the waterfall and pond in the frame.

Scott,
This is a beautiful winter scene, evoking a sense of peace. The freshly fallen snow is very appealing. In my opinion the center and right side are the strongest parts of the image. The lower left seems a bit busy and chaotic. As such I would agree with Roel that you could consider cropping the left side up to the branches entering the frame in the LLC.

I really like the feel of this image. With the fresh pristine snow I can feel the silence that come when everything is muffled by the snow.

Scott, this is a fine look through the snow covered trees into that lovely pool and stream with it's snow covered rocks.  I'm with John in wondering if you've also got a vertical view also.  It sure does look like a fun exploration with all the fresh snow.

Scott,

A quiet and lovely winter scenic.  There's a lot going on throughout the frame, but everything seems to just support the central part of the image with the pool, the encroaching ice and stream feeding the pool.  A lot to explore, just a pleasing image to view.

IU like this image a lot but find my eye distracted by all the foliage and wanting to focus on the beautiful snow and water with their contrasting shades.  Perhaps a slight crop from the top?
