Ed ..The first thing I like about the image is the color combinations in the frame, the yellow..brown green. Fine detail and beautifully framed

Ed, my first thought was how similar in color this bf is to your previous post.  That has me wondering about origins of the two.  The details in the larger view are outstanding, it feels like I could count the facets in it's eye.  The leafy background works well also.  Now you've made me look up when, since I live about 15 minutes from the Gardens....

Thanks for your thoughts, Balan and Mark; always appreciated.
Mark: If you have not been to the butterfly house you should give it a try. For $30 up to ten photographers get two hours with the butterflies before the general public comes in. It has been a couple of years since my brother Mike and I have been there so we signed up for the session on May 12.

Hi Ed,

I looked at this one earlier in the week and did not get a chance to critique this photo.  This one is quite good.  The horizontal layout with the wing place diagonally in the left portion of the frame is excellent.  The eye is nice and crisp and shows up well.  The appropriate f-stop softened up the busy BG  and it blends the scene together very well.  devil........................Jim
