Another image from last spring. This time of cliff swallows gathering clay for nesting from rain puddles. The swallows were excited by the prospect of nesting and hopping all over the place.

840mm, 1/1600s@F7.1. Shot from car window. Full frame.

Thanks for looking.

Hi,

You captured lots of activity and the center comp seems to work for this scene.  I like the open wings and glob of clay in the subject's bill. The smaller view looks slightly dark on my monitor--the large version is awesome.  I think it is just the way the jpeg was optimized and subtle details were not too apparent in your smaller version.  The large version has lots of detail with rich and balanced colors.  Lights and darks look good and cliff swallows are interesting birds for photography.  So, I like your presentation and the photo will make a very nice printdevil...............................Jim

Excellent work, Govind.  A great pose from the main subject with excellent detail and nice eye contact.  We have two or three pairs nesting on our property, but I never seem to catch them gathering mud.

A nice capture of the high level of energy these birds put in to their nest-building. It's not a classically composed shot but it is very effextive at conveying that energy.

The middle bird looks fantastic Govind,  great pose with the wing up and the mud in it's beak and excellent lighting, the other birds while a tad distracting give a good feel for the way this species groups together at waterholes to build their nests.  devil
