The Tarn # 2

Nikon D700
Nikon 80-200 @ 116 mm
f 14 @ 1/25 sec.
ISO 400
tripod & cable release
Acadia NP, ME

This is another image from the Tarn. I cropped some of the FG and made this into a pano as some of the evergreen trees on the flank of Dorr Mountain were showing up as dark green blobs in the water.

Thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

This is another beauty, Ed. I like this as much as TT #1, which I thought was outstanding. The first was more vibrant, but I like this version's more subtle look. I also like the way the reflection is broken up by the grasses. devil

Ed,
Very nice. This has a beautiful soft, painterly feel. I'm enjoying delicate and understated colors.

simple & elegant.  the photoshop gurus would tell you how to make this a *touch* more painterly and then it'd be even more fabulous.  nicely done.

The reflected glow in the water and how it recedes through the grasses make this a lovely tight view, Ed.  It's a beauty that works very well as a pano.  Peaceful and painterly are excellent descriptions.

This is just as nice as the other Tarn! Love them both. I like how the grasses are more scattered in this one, giving this quite a different feeling than nr 1. No nits!

Looks like a painting. Love the color in the water. It makes a pretty powerful S curve around the grasses.

Ed, this is very nice, and works well as a pano. I love the tonality of this image and how the colors get softer as you look into the distance.

Ed,  This is gorgeous!  Painterly indeed.  I recall your other image and one could have a field day with this location and time of day.

I really like that there is some open water and color up top to help reign in the composition.  I do wonder what, if any, space is available at the bottom for more color/reflection, but I guessing foreground distractions drove the comp/crop.

I love this.  the only other comment would be to say that I think this actually has room for a slight, slight boost in saturation and contrast (much less so.)  Certainly this is beautiful as is, so just consider that personal preference.

Ed, I certainly like the yellow and green reflected in the water paired with the tan grasses and more sage color in the background.  My suggestions would be try cropping off the top band of water and playing with some increased contrast.

Another fine tarn image. Really love the larger detail image. The lily pads add a lot of interest and the water has a nice amount of blur.enlightened

Great shot.  The low angle makes it a winner.
