Dark-eyed Junco

This is one of the first shots with this lens.  D800e, Sigma 150-600 S @600, f 7.1, 1/200, ISO 2500, -0.7 ev.  This was shot with OS set at 1 while on a tripod, which generally hasn't worked too well, but this one came out pretty sharp.  My short experience with this lens tells me I would have had a better shot at getting it sharp hand-held at this setting.  Cloned out some extraneous branches in the background.  Comments and criticism welcomed.

Really, really nice color tones in this image, Jim. The Junco is exposed spot on ! Cheers, Hans

Jim: a fine shot of one of the Juncos. Good to see the LBJs (little brown jobs) get their due. Richard

A beauty, Jim. You got an ideal headturn, great background and a very nice color tone throughout the image. Well composed as well. devil

A beautiful Junco, Jim.  I understand that mode 1 is designed for hand holding, but I don't understand the effect on image quality.  This has a kind of smeary look to some of the plumage in the larger image.  I see you had a pretty high iso-did you do quite a bit of noise reduction?  Exposure, pose and composition are excellent.

Beautiful capture Jim.  I really like the framing, the perch and the background and, of course, that the bird is sharp.
