White River Mt. Hood

Went snowshoeing on Mt. Hood Superbowl Sunday.  Primarily a snowshoeing trip, but I took a few decent images as well.  It was a blue-bird morning, but black and white seemed fitting.   Let me know what you think.  I have 3 comps from this day and will share others later as I process them.

Canon 5DM3 with 24-105mm at 40mm
ISO 100, f/13, 1/500
BW conversion in LR

In M+N due to distant Palmer Chair Lift and a few footsteps

Marylynne, In my opinion, you made a very fitting choice in going with B/W. I like everything about this. The distant lift does not detract in any way.   Very nice. The detail version is a must see.

Marylynne, I really like this in b&w and the contrast with the dark sky works great. Very nice!

I like be led into the peak in a little gully here. Your exposure is correct. The contrast between the sky and the snow is perfect.

Very nice B&W of one of my favorite mountains. The snow has nice tone and detail. I would like to see some detail in the very dark trees on the right. Looks like it was a fine day!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.  I tinkered a bit with the trees on the ridge to the right, but I didn't want to over do it.  I took another stab at it....edit....and forgot to attach the new file (duh), so I'll share the retouch when I get back in town.

Also, after looking at the other images from the day, I not so sure the others are worth sharing.  Funny how time clarifies things.

Let me know if this is an improvement.  It is, unfortunately, smaller based on the size limit for replies.
