Rippled Sunset - REWORK

Thanks all for your comments on my first version of this image.  There was very little done to that image as I was mainly just checking my monitor brightness.  Since y'all said brightness looked good I went back and truly processed it for viewing.  I hope you enjoy it more than the previous image as this was closer to what I actually viewed.

Please view the LARGE, HI-RES version for better detail.

I welcome your comments and critiques.  Thanks for looking.

In its own way, this is equally good as the other version. But my preference would be the previous version, I really enjoyed that cheerful feeling of that photo, that really lifted it for me.

Bill,  looking back at your other picture, I realize I never posted a comment.  I think your previous picture lacked color and was a little too bright. I highly prefer this version since the sun and what surrounds it is yellow and orange, that is what I expect to see in an image that has the sun in it.  This is this is an excellent image all the way around. When nature leaves you wondering where the clouds are at, this is excellent way to still have an outstanding image.

I think this is much stronger than the first image. Much cooler feel and a moodier look to it.

Beautiful composition.  The ripples really pull me in.

Gorgeous Bill!  I'm almost wishing I didn't have your first pass on my mind.  This one actually makes for a different impression for me.  Before I mentioned I got the distinct feeling of the ending of a warm summer day at the beach.   I still get the feeling of the end of the day, but I'm not feeling the heat as much.  And that's not a bad thing at all, just a different impression.

Gorgeous is the word because the light is exquisite here.  The large version I could go on staring at forever.  Your processing is masterful here.

Jealous.

Well, after looking at both images, they both have their qualities and I'd like to see one in the middle. This one has some cyan tones it seemed a little too cool whereas the other one seemed a little bright.  No question that you got the composition down. I think it just comes down to a matter of preference. The other issue is that many of us have been prejudiced by looking at the first few and now seeing a second view, we get a little confused as to what we like. Anyhow it's a good photo.

Will echo others comments that this is simply gorgeous, Bill.  The textures and patterns in the sand together with that golden light and the blues of the shadows makes this truly an outstanding image.

This is superb! Love the lighting and the sand ripples are mesmerizing. Great job managing the dynamic range.

Bill, Wow! I love this. The mood and feeling that comes from this image is wonderful. I did like the other one but your processing here absolutely captures the moment. The larger version is one I could enjoy looking at for awhile...so that is what I'm going to do. Glad you got this one close to the way you remember it. devil Nick
