Killdeer gets the worm repost

I found a pair of killdeer hunting in a grassy area of a local park.  Neither seemed bothered by my van being close.  I was able to shoot bracing the camera on the raised window while using my hat as a cushion.  The bird in the photo caught a large earthworm and seemed to have trouble holding on to it.

Good picture of the Killdeer, John, and a nice catch of the action. On my screen, this appears a bit dark, and could benefit from some brightening.

Hi John,

Brighten it up a bit as Phil mentioned.  The tug of war is amazing--the legs of the killdeer show  the effort needed to pull a nightcrawler out of the soil.  Good action shot...................................Jim

Thank you all for your comments.  I will be posting a couple more from this experience, but here is a brightened version.

Excellent portrayal of this titanic duel between two ferocious species. sad

I think the brightning helped.  The prominent V of grass blades is unfortunate, but you can't pass up the shot for that.  Well done..
