We are returning to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana on Wednesday, and hoping for some more nice ions.

I LOVE this image, Ken! It's one of my very favourites from you, actually! Just a wonderful mood and intangible quality to it. For sure it has gorgeous tones throughout thanks to the open light and complementary colour palette, and I think the lioness is optimally "buried" creating a sense of her wading through the grass. I just plain like it.

Nice head on shot Ken. Excellent techs, and I like the straw colored grasses partially obscuring the lioness. Nice compositional choice as well.

This is awesome Ken, one of your best imo, the low angle and focus of the lioness are both super.

I agree this is one of your best, with the soft grasses + lion moving into the frame telling of an unfolding drama.

Lon and Nate,
Thanks for your comments, no luck this trip, there must be some truth to the rumour of the local cattle farmers slaughtering "problem" animals?
