Incoming?

We had just watched this Osprey finish off its meal in some lovely evening light and it was starting to clean itself. In a world containing Bald Eagles, the Osprey tend to be very watchful and when something large flew over, it stopped to check it out. I really like the setting this bird chose for its evening repast and tried to choose a composition that emphasized it as well as the bird. The cool looking gray-green epiphyte with the pink/purple blossoms is Tillandsia bartramii. I'm not sure which Bartram it was named after, though I suspect it was the son, since he did a major collecting trip in the general area. It's an honorable name in the botanical world in either case.
