New Castle Common Tree

Known to area photographers as "The Tree," this stands on the New Hampshire coast at New Castle Common, a.k.a. Great Island Common. Although it's nicely composed, the original colors (it was midday) were boring, so I experimented and came up with this.

Olympus Stylus SH-1
f/12 at 1/500 sec., ISO 400
Handheld
Processed in Photoshop and Nik Color Efex Pro 4

A beautiful tree and a very peaceful scene.

Hey Nancy,
Everyone must see the large version to truly appreciate this image, very impressive with amazing color and detail. The smaller image conversion has not done this image justice !
If it were mine, I would remove the square box thing on the horizon just left of the tree trunk, it seems out of place and distracts from the perfect water line.
Well done . . .  devil

Certainly different. I would be interested in seeing the original color. The composition is traditional, perfectly sound and appropriate. I bet the color could be juiced up enough to keep it from being boring.

Mike that's a container ship. I wouldn't know what an ocean horizon looked like without one!laugh
