For those of you who noticed the Houston floods on the news we were right in the middle of it. We live in the area that got nearly 20 inches of rain last Sunday night and Monday morning and our house is about 200 yards from Cypress Creek. Fortunately for us we sit on some relatively high ground and while the flooding was markedly higher than any we've seen in our 13 years in this house we still had several feet of safety when the water crested. On that Monday morning it was still raining but our Regina Iris was blooming and since the flowers only last a single day I took umbrella in hand and ventured out. All comments welcome. >=))>

Wow, that is a gorgeous iris, Bill. I thought it was an orchid at first. Belongs in a royal gardens with the purple color, form and detail. Nicely set against the dark bg, and the raindrops are a nice bonus. devil

Stay dry.

Hi Bill, a wonderful flower and great capture - such a complex structure can often be quite difficult to compose but i think you've done a great job here.  THe water droplets are of course a nice touch - worth going out in the rain ;-) ...

Bill, I was on holiday with my wife and I have lost your beautiful Irises. I always love the compositions you make of these flowers. I like this image just as the latest version of which I prefer the background. Beautiful both.
