The unique crocus (Crocus vernus Wulf Forma Drebachiensis) that grows in and around the village, Drebach, South-East Germany, really is something special. This is actually not far from my home town and I have photographed them many times. Nevertheless they always offer new photographic opportunities and this is from the last trip with Mark. At the end of the day some of the sloping meadows in which they are found are bathed in a wonderful evening light … Here i am looking to capture nature at its most perfect with the new colours of the last light of one of the first days of Spring.

I personally find the black frame detracts quite a lot - something less stark would not draw the eye so much.
