Tricolored Heron

The light was fading fast when I found this Tricolored Heron wading the shoreline watching the sunset. Cropped to  approx 60% of FF. I liked the moody feel the image has. I experimented with some lighter and darker versions and decided on this one. It's more the way I remember the scene.

Thanks for looking, comments & suggestions are always appreciated!

I like this also, Ken.  The reduced color pallet with the warm, low-level illumination creates a great mood.  The composition is very nice with what I think is a perfect placement of the bird.  I love the rear view with the head turn!  Very nice all around!

I just discovered that clicking on the preview image brings up a white-edged image that has more of a luminous quality than the full-size image.

Outstanding capture Steve.  I really like the light.  I would recommend that everyone take a look at the the larger image.

Fantastic light and detail on this Steve. Nice warm tones and great pose from the TCH. Nice subtle reflection too. Well cone.

I like the lighting in this image a lot, Steve.  It suits my taste very well.  Excellent detail and you really made that eye pop.
