Anhinga Display II

I finally got around to processing another frame from the Anhinga Display that I posted a couple of weeks ago.  This is about as far down as he bowed before starting up again.

Based on the comments I received on that image, I decided to try taking the bg in this one to plain white rather than the grayish tone I had in the first post.  Other than that, the processing was pretty similar.

7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600mm, handheld from boat, f/8, 1/800, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped from a horizontal original to a 4x5 vertical with extra off the top and bottom to yield an image size of 7 MP before resizing.  Taken at 3:31 PM  on March 29th under cloudy skies.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

I like your choice to go with the pure white bg Dennis. The Anhinga really pops and I think it's cool that the only real color is the feet and that nice blue eye. Fantastic pose, great image  devil

If I had not seen the eye, I would have sworn this was a high key black and white image. With that said, I think that I know you better and I don't think you do those kinds's of things very often.  It is a very cool photograph.

Awesome behavioral image, Dennis. Very unique pose. The minimalist high-key approach focuses the attention on the anhinga. Very well composed too. devil
