Rite of Passage

I just returned yesterday from a 4 day trip to the California Redwoods. The Rhododendrons were gone by the time I went there, but, there was definitely a lot to shoot.

Here is the first image from my trip. Appreciate any thoughts you have on this.

Sairam. Could you please indicate where this was taken specifically. I'll be driving through that area and would like to visit good foggy spots. Thx.

Beautiful and moody. An option might be to crop down from the top to eliminate some of the peaking sky.

Nice work.  I might be tempted to brighten it a tish. Sometimes fog looks more realistic overexposed.  I'm undecided about the crop suggestion.  The grandeur is partly the height of the trees, but the sky is an issue.  Maybe if the sky is brighter is actually works better?

This is a beauty. Really excellent comp and mood. Processing looks flawless. Very well done.

Beautiful, sombre tonality and excellent composition.  For me, the exposure is just right to convey a mood.

I like the light at the top. maybe just tone it down a tad more.
Lovely comp and mood.

I like what you have here, Sairam.  I agree with Dan, that the height is important, and so is the light up top.  Just a slight burn. Lovely image.

I really like the feeling of this image. The fog, the contrast in color between the green of the young tree and the brown of the older trees. Very well seen and composed.

Thanks all!

Igor, this was taken at Del Norte.

Dan, I see what you mean about the bright spot. It was something I struggled with. A closer view removed the "height" of these trees, and this view introduced the light source. I'll see if toning it down helps.
