Tiny Tim suspects he isn't getting his share of food!

I love Egret and Heron chicks; they are, at the same time, so ugly and so cute! This was taken at Rip's Rookery near Delcambre, Louisiana in June of 2015. It was late afternoon and the light was warm and shadows long.

Cropped to 7.5MP before resizing.

LR6--levels, some sharpening.

Lovely image, Raoul. That's a gorgeous little stub sticking up behind the chicks and it adds a lot to the image for me. Great poses from the chicks and nice eye contact with all three.

I too love the partially-rotted stub. Matter of fact, later, I will post a shot of the mother of these chicks waiting on nest material before the eggs were laid.

Real cute behavioral shot with terrific detail and superb background. I really like the interplay of the chicks here. The light is very nice.
