Fly By

Another of my attempts in the last few weeks to get a few decent photos of Terns.  This one is definitely an Arctic Tern.  It flew by close and fast and I was barely able to keep up with it for a split second.  It's a vertical crop of a horizontal shot as it was captured in the far left side of the frame.  I was happy to have caught it at all!

Sony ILCE-6300, FE 70-200 F4 G @ 200mm, ISO-100, f/5.0, 1/4000, hand held.

Really nice capture, Gary. Very sharp, excellent light, and a nice bg, and I like the angled body position and spread wings and tail which really show off the wing and tail feather structure.

This looks good, Gary.  You've got great details in the bird's feathers with them spread well through the frame.  The eye highlight is a fine addition.

Excellent capture, Gary !  Fine detail, a good bg and, above all, a great shot of the flight and wingspread of one of these birds.

Well done.  This is really difficult because the Terns are quick.  You have done a superb job here of getting a sharp image and nice BG.

Nice catch, Gary, and shooting birds like these with a 200 mm means you're pretty close which accentuates the speed.  Excellent work.
