Black bear and cub

Taken at the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary, Orr, MN

I had questions about going to this bear sanctuary to photograph wild black bears since the staff places small amounts of natural food items around the area to attract wild bears into viewing/photography range.  But, as I was going to Minnesota for other reasons I decided to visit it and see for myself.  I was pleased with the level of professional operation of the facility, the safety steps, and the natural behavior of the bears.

Taken in early morning as the mother bear tried to get her cub to leave the tree.

Canon T6i
1/125 @ F-5.6 ISO 800
Sigma 18-300mm OS @ 95mm HH

This is a very cool image, John!  I like seeing both the mother and the cub in the tree.  I also like the way the cub found a nice place to rest in the v shape of the tree.

Cute shot of this family John. Looks like junior is digging in and not going to budge any time soon.

Hi John,

Looks good--I like the comp and the exposure is good as well.  I would do some localized sharpening on the baby bear as my only suggested edit.  Otherwise, a fun picture to look at.....................Jim
