Height of the Land (WC)

Dennis' Redwoods image reminded me of this older (2006?) film image taken at a place in Maine called "Height of the Land." We've all been in a plane when it climbs above thick clouds into clear sky. Same situation here, but I was in a car. Driving to this spot at daybreak, the fog was thick as soup. However, the road climbed about 1000 feet above the valley floor, above the fog, giving me a nice view of the setting moon. Shortly after this, the clouds (fog) rose, completely obscuring the scene once again.  Nikon F5, other techs unrecorded. Comments welcome.

Scott, I'll take your word for it that there's land down below...sad.  This is a fine view, especially with the details in the full moon and color in the sky.  Getting the timing right for a full moon and sky color shot in a single exposure is tricky and this is a fine example.  The details in the tops of the clouds are neat also.

The sunrise light on the full moon is awesome, Scott.  A truly unique image.  I like the nice crisp view of the moon and the clouds below have plenty of interesting contours.  Well done.

Very nice color transitions here.  Nice placement of elements.  Terrific tonal qualities.  Great package.

Simple and beautiful, with such soft colors throughout. Very lovely. Love the details in the moon, too.
