Boathouse in the Mist

I took this on a fall morning right after a rain at Oxbow Lake, New York, last year. I like the watercolor feel to it but am wondering if it is too dark in general and would like some feedback. Thanks in advance for any comments or critiques. I was kayaking on this morning and so I had the ISO up pretty high.

Canon 5d,M3, ISO1250, f/18, 80 mm, 1/200 sec.

Love it just as it is! The brighter boathouse contrasts nicely with the darker fog and mist. Placement of the boat and boathouse is perfect, but I'd like to see a wider strip of that beautiful water on the bottom, if possible.
Lovely image!

Excellent, Kathy. I, too, like the painterly look and feel. I don't think it's too dark. The tone adds to the mood. It's really a very good image, certainly worthy of printing. (There still are some dust spots scattered throughout, however).

Awesome lighting conditions and nice composition.  Upstate NY has some special places and you found a great one.

Among many other things, I like the cool tones of this image combined with just a tad of warmth to make it interesting. I'm not sure about the mast on that boat, though. It does draw unwanted attention a bit.

Hello Kathy, This is not too dark. It is moody, painterly and peaceful. I like the blue/grey tones. There are some dust spots in the URC. Another beautiful work.

I thought for sure I commented on this one last week, but my internet was glitchy, so it might not have stuck.  I love this image.  I think it could tolerate (but doesn't need) a slight crop from the right, just to the left of the somewhat splotchy patch of foliage near the right edge. This would move the boathouse further off center.  Of course, that might not be a good idea if you want to emphasize its isolation.   I can also image just a tish more contrast or the slightest bit of dehaze in the trees...not enough to reduce the mystery, but just enough to bring out the cool browns and greens.

Lovely image with great mood.

Love the bright crisp boathouse set against the misty lakes, trees and skyline. I also like the pano treatment. It seems that a B&W conversion would work really well with this also.
