Bald Eagle II

One of the kinds of image I was looking for on my recent eagle trip was eagles with the mountain top bg to give a feel of space.  I managed to get a few and this is one of my favorites.  I came very close to clipping the lower wing tip, so I had to add some canvas on the bottom of this one and took some off the top and left.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600mm, handheld, f/8, 1/3200, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  After adding canvas I cropped this to an 11.6 MP 4x5 aspect ratio image before resizing it for the web.  Taken at 8:06 AM on June 16th.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Another nice eagle shot, Dennis.  I like the angle you captured him at showing the full wingspread.  Again, great detail at 600 mm handheld.  My only thought would be to somehow enhance the mountain top to make it more prominent; at least on my screen its a bit light.

Gotta love that wing spread, Dennis.  It's a bummer about the need to add canvas, but otherwise it's a wonderful background for this subject.  Nice work.

Terrific wing-position, Dennis. The large version is awesome. Techs also look spot on. Looks like you have enough light to shoot at a higher f-stop and get the mountain top sharper.

Nicely done Dennis. I like the added space on the bottom. Nice perspective with the mountain in the BG. I think I would have preferred a bit more space both on top and on the left margins, not much, but just a bit. Fantastic wing spread here.

Really nice job with the post to add canvas aspect ratio, Dennis.  We should all take another look on the 4th of July devil

Nice framing job.  Wish the mountain was a little sharper.  But a very nice job on the eagle itself.

I really like this topside view of the feathers Dennis. I also like the clouds in the BG.
