Blue Poppy #2

Taken with Canon SX50 at Longwood Gardens earlier this year.  1/160 sec. F4, ISO 1000

Found taking these beautiful poppies a challenge this year.  This is one of my favorites.

Comments always welcomed.

Beautiful pastels in this Patricia. I like the crop and the amazing detail in the stamens and stigma. The lighter colored petal is a bit of a distraction, but overall very nice work.

I agree with Ed's comment.  Also, great detail in the petals.

Wonderful combination of colors with the blue/yellow and excellent detail where it needs to be.  Very nice image, a pleasure to view, way to go.

I love the blues and the crisp details in the center of the poppy, Patricia. This is just a suggestion of course; but if this were mine I think I would tone down that OOF petal on the left just a bit so it did not grab the viewers attention right away. I can see why this is one of your favorites.

Your tribute to beauty and elegance in the flower world. I love the image and agree with the common opinion about the top of the petal too luminous. I think that it's enough to bring it at the same light and color or the other petals. Beautiful work anyway Patricia.

Hi Patricia, lovely colour, structure and composition with some wonderful subtle tones in the blues ... - agree with previous comments about light petal ...

Delicious.  Only nit might be I'd like to see it slightly off-center—my Zen sensibility.

Patricia, this is certainly one of your best. The colors and textures are delightful. I also think as others have stated, that it would be even better if the leftmost petal were closer to the color the other petals.devil
