Marmot Paradise (Repost)
by Brian Schrayer
My primary interest in nature photography is landscapes. However, I do enjoy photographing wildlife when given the opportunity. I recently traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park and was hiking along the Ute Trail when I saw this marmot. Marmots are fun to photograph because they are generally cooperative and will often strike nice poses. I have a handful of images that I was able to capture of this marmot that I am very pleased with. This is the first.

6 commentsI agree with the positive aspects of the previous comments - nicely done! My only small nit is that I'm not in love with the crop - as Dennis said I find it a bit tight on top and I do find that there's just a tad too much rock shown on the bottom for my taste. To my eye this shot works as a "natural" 3:2 aspect ratio (rather than going more squarish).
Cheers...
